He's dead. How else would they set up Laroy for the hit next week if Clay was alive and could tell them it was Opie? Jax was stopping him because now he's stuck. He must assume the role as President.

I think he tells Opie to run and he goes into hiding but comes back at some point in the future to help take back Samcro with Jax.

Opie's gonna get taken out....and I wouldn't be surprised if it's Jax who does it.
Opie's bad shot was bullsh!t. If you're gonna make him miss that close, I wouldn't have shot that scene at all and instead I would have gone in a different direction.
Jax will be the one that kills Clay and that won't happen for a while.

There is another preview of Wayne standing over Clay's body though, but its NOT in the meeting room. Its in the garage or something. That's a bit puzzling.

Ryan Hurst is great as Opie, but when I see/hear his name, I think of this dude:
He was also great as Gary in Remember the Titans. And, who can forget his role in....The Ladykillers.
