NFL Playoffs analogy.

I recognize the emphatic differences between the NFL model and BCS model, but suspend disbelief for a while and think of it like this.
Let's say that Pittsburgh, at 16-0, was the #1 seed in the AFC. Baltimore was the #2 seed at 14-2, with their only losses coming to Pittsburgh, therefore costing them the division. Now, the week the postseason starts, Baltimore gets a bye at #2, but Pittsburgh has to go on the road to play a very good AFC East champion New England Patriots. Baltimore is now guaranteed a spot in the second post season game while Pittsburgh may lose and be out.
That is the exactly what will happen if there is a rematch in NOLA between LSU and Alabama.

You don't know the difference between NFL and NCAA?

You don't know how read a qualifying opening statement?

This makes absolutely no sense. Why would the #1 seed ever have to play while the #2 doesn't?
Not to mention the obvious this isn't the NFL

Wild cards don't get byes.

I just tried to read what you types again and it still doesn't make sense.

What? Only div winners get byes.

The highest a wildcard can be ranked in the NFL postseason is 5th. See Saints last year. Seattle has a worst win/loss record but still was the higher seed and had homefield over the saints.

Not even close man. Horrible analogy. In the NFL, Bama would have to win the extra game, not LSU genius.

Come on, seriously?
Let's there's another team -- uh, Cleveland who is 14-1.
Baltimore has beaten Cleveland.
But Pittsburgh hasn't played them yet.
That's what's happening here.

Boom!

Wow, nobody gets this. You are exactly right, that is the analogy of the LSU/ Bama situation if we beat Ark and play in SECCG while Bama sits at home. Not really fair is it, but I'd rather control our own destiny.

That's exactly his point. He's just illustrating absurdity with absurdity to show how absurd it is that LSU may have a harder path to the BCSCG than Bama.

Yea we all get what he is trying to say but we are trying to understand why he would compare to a situation in the NFL that is 100% gauranteed to never happen.

You all do realize that LSU can go to Atlanta, Le Miles can walk up to Mark Richt and flip him off and then fly back to Baton Rouge and we still make the NC game right?
Everybody does understand that we don't have to win the SECCG, right?

His point is it shouldn't be happening to LSU either.

We don't have a harder path. We beat Arkansas and we are in. Bama has to sweat it out.

You're almost surely right, but I wouldn't depend on this if I was LSU. You know they'll play to win, and then what happens if someone on LSU gets hurt while Bama rests up?
