How have we not made that much fun of Ole Miss's New Mascot?

I have to admit I've been slightly disappointed at the lack of mockery being made about Ole Miss's mascot change.
I mean COME ON they changed their mascot from the Rebels to the Rebel Black Bears. They have frickin smokey the bear for a mascot! I mean that's just a gift from above dropped into tigerdroppings lap as well as the rest of the LSU fanbase, we can't let this go without rubbing it in our rivals faces, we're better than that people!
Did a search and couldn't find anything, if their was a fark board thread dedicated to it or something please post up that link I'd love a good laugh right now

kinda like the old one. New one looks gay...on second thought, the new one reflects the student body a little better

What happens when some politically correct imbecile decides LSU shouldn't name its teams after a civil war fighting unit?

You have to be relevent in order to be made fun of or else there is no point in piling on the helpless. It is similar to a good team putting up 49 points by the 3rd quarter and then pulling the starters. No glory in whipping the helpless.

It's the equivalent of Alabama having an elephant on the sidelines. They aren't called the Ole Miss Black Bears, they are still the Ole Miss Rebels. The Black Bear is just like a figure head or something to prance around the sidelines like a tool. It gets booed off the field every game FWIW.

because some crusty ole colonel or two or ten (like me) will tell the morons that the tiger insigina for Louisiana units goes back to 1838...and besides the Civil War, there were Louisiana Tigers at places like Anzio and in the skies over China.....
