you stay out in open bodies of water and you'll be good.
It's when you start creeping around in the shallow marshes during duck season is when you should be concerned.
I've been peppered from above many times fishing.Doesn't hurt at all

Then go a lil further south at the oak river/pencil canal intersection. Should be the only 2 places u need to go.

"oneofthepack" on rodnreel has been saying he's been waiting till after the "duck-rush" to start fishing (usually about 8ish). He's been down there all week.

you know what?
I think I'm going to start putting in at Pointe A la hache now that I look at that map.
Much shorter drive than driving down to delacroix and the boat ride to that area would be shorter also.

How do you get there from sweetwater. You go down the twin pipeline and cut over? What's the shortest or quickest route

From Sweetwater, take Bayou Gentilly(right across from the backdown) and make your way into Little Lake. Once in Little Lake head south-southeast to get to the North/South Pipeline (also called pencil canal). Last time I went there was actually a huge 4x8 sheet of plywood on posts at the entrance to the canal that had a Fleur-di-lis and "Pencil Canal" painted on it. Can't miss it!

Pencil canal will take you into the Pointe Fienne area and then onto Oak River.

follow the bayou gentilly to Petit lake.Cut across till you get to pencil canal(there's a sign that says pencil canal)
Take pencil all the way to Fienne
