1. Our defense is one of the best in recent memory

With our defense, we can afford to play a grind it out ball control game with JJ. Les playing the odds. very good odds i would say. no style point, but an almost sure win.

2. Arkansas
Hogs have problems with a mobile/running qb. we win easily.

JJ is much more difficult for defenses to prepare for. with the way Ford and JJ running the option, I dont think many teams can stop that. And if you dont think JJ opens up our running game, check out denver broncos stats with tebow starting.

Keep trying to convince yourself an inferior QB gives you the best chance of winning.

i think people just say hes going to start so that when he did, they can say i told you so. Just like people keep saying trap game every fricking week so they can say, i told you so.

IMO this goes back to the hate for les miles and people wantong to say, i told you so.

The only person JJ should need to convince is Les Miles and if he is able to convince a coach who has managed the team to a 10-0 start and beating several ranked teams (away) and a #1 ranking that he should switch to him as the starter , then why would you not want him to be the QB?

Do you presume to know more about the team and the players or have more incentive to win than Les Miles does?

I am not predicting JJ is going to start. what i am saying is JJ should be the starter. JJ is a more dangerous qb. defenses can easily game plan for JL, not the same with JJ.

People tried to make that same argument the last two years, and we've lost games because of it. You can only rely on a defense for so long. We're not beating West Virginia or Oregon putting up the points we put up with Jefferson at the reigns. (And don't reference the Western Kentucky game. That was a joke of a defense, and he didn't even start putting up points until the second half)

First, I'm sick of hearing this "JJ is SUCH a good running quarterback". He has some wheels, but he's not Mike Vick. He's not going to win you games rushing for over 100 yards. He'll get you some third down conversions, but you can't run an offense based off his legs.

Secondly, we're not an option offense. It's failed us in the past when we've implemented it too much. It's a good situational tool, but I can't think of one series this year where we've gone full option offense on a series and it ended in a TD (against a legit team).

Lee brought us to 10-0. We were winning games in the double digits, with no complaints about the offense.

In what we've seen from Jefferson this season and in past seasons, there's no assurance that he can stably run an offense and get us consistent points.

I believe he should play, especially in situations where he's needed to just keep things stable (aka the Alabama game), but letting him run our offense full time is a loss waiting to happen.
