Wusthoff
Global
etc.

Go try it out in your hand and pick which one feels the best.

Global or Shun are the best two out there, but you will pay for em. They stay sharper longer. Google kitchen knife reviews and i'm sure you'll get the same answers.

Kyocera chef knife. Ceramic. Will stay sharper than any steel knife. I love it and it's very affordable and has a great warranty and support for when you want to resharpen it, which will take a long time.

I bought my wife a set of Wusthof Classic Santuko knives. The larger one is an awesome all around knife. I think it's got a 6-1/2 inch blade on it.

If I did it again I'd probably go for the Nakiri.
