Mclane and and Crane agree to move Astros to AL for reducing the sale price by $70mil - half covered by Mclane, other half covered by MLB.

It will be 15 years before the Astros are a serious contender again. The new management will not compete with the Rangers and Angels. I've been a die-hard Astros fan for 35 years. I've suffered through some terrible teams. I'll survive a few more. But, I will miss watching the Astros play "Real" baseball.

I truly hate the DH rule.

You guys are making this out to be a big deal.

It's not.

If Crane spends the money and hires a GM that has a clue, then there won't be any issues.

The Rangers just changed owners. I know the farm system was loaded, but still the fact remains.

Take a fricking xanax and see where this goes. I'm kind of excited to go check out some new teams in Houston. Bring them on.

It matters not to me which league we play in. Just get on with hiring a competent gm and manger and restock the system so we can compete in 2014

Exactly.

It's like people want change overnight and it's not going to happen.

Crane's decisions in the first few days will determine how his ownership will ultimately play out, IMO.

The Astros have been in the NL for 50 years and are getting fricked over, just because they are for sale. If its "no big deal" why don't they move the fricking Brewers who were an AL (that American League for those who some how couldn't figure that out in a baseball discusssion) for their first 25 years or so. Or how about the D-backs? Is that long 13 year history of being in the NL too much for them? frick if its no big deal, why are they giving Crane $70M. Oh and this means inter league play every day, which I don't like anyway.

yes there is, the Astros will be in the fricking AL. It would be like LSU moving to the Big 12.

I'm not against it because I don't think they can compete.

So they won't be able to compete in their new division but they were going to somehow be able to comepete in the Central who has the WS champions, Division champions, a young and talented Reds team and the Cubs with new management and deep pockets?

why, are you dense? If that was the case, it wouldn't be an issue, teams would be lining up to move if it was "better" to be in the AL.

They essentially are. Crane is getting a deal to move. Less money spent = more money.
