Thinking about buying a benelli supernova. Are they worth the money $599 or is there something similar and better bang for my buck. I'm an occasional duck hunter when I go back home and looking for another gun. Thanks in advance

I have the Supernova. I really like it. I picked it up for $500 though. Very comfortable gun and the recoil reducing system on it works like a charm, I can burn through a box of shells and it feels like I haven't fired a shot. Definitely go pick it up and see if you like the way it feels though.

:in b4 just get an 870:

Honestly if you are a occasional duck hunter go to a pawn store and get you a 870 thats 10 years plus. $200 and you wont be able to jam it if you tried.

Isn't the only difference between the nova and supernova the recoil reducing thing built into the stock?

The magazine bypass switch thing is the tits. Pure genius.

Do not buy this piece of junk. I have talked to 3 different retailers who have stopped selling them do to severe jamming issues. The regular vinci is a nice gun, but the super version has a long way to go. Plus, the OP was looking for a pump in the $500 range. Why would you even suggest this? The only comparable gun to the supernova in my opinion is the Browning BPS. I had one sine I was 14 and it is the most reliable pump I have ever shot, it also ejects from the bottom so it it a great gun that anyone can shoot.

I think the Supernova shoots 3-1/2" where the Nova doesn't. I believe this is correct

That's right, I knew there was another reason I picked the supernova over the nova

Dang didn't realize these have got this expensive. I got a supernova a few years ago for around 425, loved it. Used it for 2 years for dove hutning until i broke down and bought the benelli montefeltro. And that baby is unbelievable! Benelli all the way

PS i also have a benelli nova in 20ga that is a shooter. Cant go wrong with benelli

I perfer the 870 Super magnum. Bought one 5 years ago for a little over 300.00 bucks, never missed a beat. With that said, it comes down which one you perfer, the 870 and the Super Nova are both very reliable shotguns.

I have three pumps currently, and have owned 4. Of them, while I love my 870, it would be 4th in line if I had to buy a pump today.
