Friend of mine posted this on FB, did a search and saw nothing. These are stats for Les in his first 7 years at LSU and Bear's first 7 seasons at Bama:

Les Miles: 72-17, 5-1 in bowl games, 1 Natl Champ

Bear Bryant: 60-11-5, 3-2 in bowl games, 1 Natl Champ

Longevity and sustained success going forward will be huge but through 7 seasons Les is actually better than Bear.

Both had 1. Bear won it in his 7th giving him 2. If Les wins it this year the numbers are exact in that stat too.

The only difference is that drunk cheated to do it. Giving out over 100 scholarships a year then cutting the kids to make his opponents weaker. The Bear wasn't quite as good as his record implies.

I wonder how many bama fans wanted the bear to be fired.

hasnt miles already surpassed 70 wins and as far as national titles i think bryant had 2 or 3. bama claims so many its hard to know.

gamesmanship, play the system, he was the first to do it, when the NCAA put a scholarship limit on football, the Bear began signing a bunch of "track & field" and "baseball" athletes who just happen to want to walk-on football

Now the NCAA was rules to prevent that, AKA the "Bear Bryant" rules, heck they named the rule after him!

Now the way to work the system is to over-sign, but I promise you the NCAA will come up with a rule for that.

Les Miles is on the verge of his 5th 11-win season at LSU.

Think about that.

bear was 62-9-5 in 7 years. looks like 2 national titles and 4 conference champs. miles could match the two national titles this year.
