Ok Board Browning Maxus vs. Benelli SBE II

It's time for a new shotgun. I already have a 870 Wingmaster and a Browning BPS and some 1100's. I want a new auto. I have narrowed it to either the Maxus or Super Black Eagle II. Any experience with these guns? I figure a bunch of opinions and experiences with each will help me decide. So what are the pro's and con's of each. I will be using it for ducks as well as some doves. Thanks in advance for the help guys

I don't know anybody who shoots a maxus. Everybody I know shoots benelli, but I think that's because it's the "cool" gun. I would go with the maxus just to be different.

I haven't shot either but have held both. The Maxus shoulders for me like a dang dream! The Benelli feels good too,but not near as natural feeling as the Maxus

Sounds like you didn't even need to ask. The biggest thing I go by when buying a gun is how it feels when it hits my shoulder.

Friends that have the Browning say it doesn't eject low powered shells very well.

I was looking at the same two a few years ago and got the Maxus. Best shotgun I've ever owned.
3 1/2" 26" modb

I bought it from Simmons a few years ago when I lived in TX, they had the best price, esp since I wasnt paying tax, but did have to pay the transfer.

Anyway, it shoots like a dream. When they said it's light recoil, they arent kidding.

The only problem I had is the Browning
"cap" that goes on the bottom of stock where hand rail comes down fell off. But this also happened to my buddy's SBE. Those stock caps always seem to fall off.

I love my SBE II. I've killed pretty much every edible animal in the south east and have yet to have any problems.

Go with what fits you best, the browning has a much narrower stock, so should be a noticeable difference, go with the one that fits best. As for quality, any of the three B's are neck and neck. I have the maxus and have shot 4 cases of shells through it since January, ( everything form 3 1/2 geese loads to 7/8 oz sporting clay loads) and have had one malfunction. Another feature I love about the browning is the magazine override switch which allows you to bypass the shells in the mag and load from the chamber, as well as the ability to unload the magazine without chambering through the action (very helpful when you are loaded for teal and geese start working)

I'm definitely leaning toward the Maxus. I have heard some good and bad about all of them. But from most ive read the 3 B's are good guns regardless. Plus the Browning just felt like an extension of my arm. It was just that smooth. I do realize that what fits me great may not fit the next guy great, but its that smooth for me

Same thing happened to me, I went to the store ready to buy the beretta xplor and picked up the maxus and it just felt so much better, have not looked back since, best shotgun I have ever bought ( not the most expensive shotgun I have ever bought though)

Like others have said, shoulder them and see which one feels more natural. If you get a chance, go to a local Skeet range and demo them. I was choosing between the three b's and chose the Maxus. Great decision for me and never had any issues. Any shell and condition no problem. Love my gun.
