Dream Berrie Cafe on Sherwood

Opened in the old Taste of Asia location. They serve Vietnemese food AND frozen yogurt. Odd combo but wife and I went for lunch today and both the Pho and yogurt were excellent.
First of all the renovations from TOA to Dream Berrie are quite impressive. My wife had Pho Ga which was a big portion as Pho usually is and I had brisket Pho. Both were very good. We also had the Viet egg rolls which were very good.
We were stuffed but had to try yogurt on the way out. Yogurt and toppings were good as frozen yogurt goes.
I'd recommend it just like I recommended Roma pizza in PVille.
I thought the combo of Viet food and yogurt was the recipe for a classic restaurant bomb but I think I could be wrong here.

Tried this place for the first time.
The starkest and first impression is how absolutely clean the place is. Granted, they've only been open two weeks, but there were employees actively cleaning the tables and mopping the floor. Not only that, gone is the dark, dungeon-like interior from Taste of Asia. They've transformed it into a sleek, clean, modern, fresh, bright interior, and not only is it the cleanest Vietnamese restaurant that I've ever been in, it's perhaps one of the cleanest restaurants in all of Baton Rouge.
Ordered a bowl of Pho Tai ($7.99) and Chai Gio (Vietnamese egg rolls $3.99). The Pho broth is probably the lightest of all in Baton Rouge, but still very tasty once properly doctored up, and the egg rolls were very good, in part because they make them in house, unlike frozen ones at other places.
The waitstaff was pleasant and very helpful.
Nguyen said he couldn't keep his bistro open at this location because the rent was way too high, and he was selling higher priced meals than DBC. Hopefully the sheer volume of the Pho sales will keep Dream Berrie alive and well. As of now, the place is probably too big for itself ($$$rent$$$) with around 20 tables plus outdoor seating. Hopefully, rent won't be their demise. There were only about five tables taken during lunch hour, but admittedly they said that they haven't done any advertising at all. Heck, I just found out about this place from a mention on Tiger Droppings this morning.
The drinks offered are very basic with your typical soft drinks, hot or iced Vietnamese coffee, hot tea and soy milk. I usually opt for a salty lemon or salty plum drink, but no such luck here.
Open 7 days a week from 10:30am-9pm.

Nice review Degas. We've had every variety of Pho they offer now, the Viet egg rolls like you had and a pork and rice dish that was excellent.
My wife and I loved Taste of Asia and went bye bye. We really like Dream Berrie as well but with our luck it will not last either. We hope it does because nothing against other Viet restaurants, but I feel very comfortable eating in Dream Berrie.

It's different owners. A young couple owns Dream Berrie.
