I usually don't get into basketball as much as baseball and football. I don't make it to many games and they aren't on tv enough for me to see them alot. So I basically just follow on here..

Tell me who is expected to start, who will contribute, and who are the freshman that are supposed to contribute.

Looking forward to watching the game Saturday (just hope I can sneak my drink in).

Not much to talk about. Year 4 of TJ's program. Let's wait until the Tigers play the first 12 games. By then, you and everyone else will know what it needs to know. Should be more improved over the last two 20 loss teams..but who knows.

Just about the majority of the fans don't care bc "we are a football school." Therefore, no one shows up to the games or develops expectations bc "we are a football school". Some of these coaches and administrators at LSU need to take a Tony Robbins course in making dreams happen but no one seems to care bc , "we are a football school". If we are going to play Div. 1 basketball, I think we should go all out and become a basketball power. Just don't see it happening for some unknown reason.

Thing I didn't add above is for the first time since probably 2006 or so, we have considerable depth at most positions. That should definitely help us out this season.

Is hickey a true pg? Haven't had one of those (that was good at least) in a long time.

Yes, true PG out of Kentucky, was named Mr. Basketball out of that state last year. He's supposed to be good.

I agree this is the first year since I can remember where we have depth. Reason being Johnson held out scholarships for players that were quality rather than giving them to anyone his first few years on the job.

Overall, I see a much improved team with more presence inside than we have seen in a while. Some big bodies and new faces for sure. Will be fun to see them come out and win some more games this year.

Would love to finish in the top half of the SEC this year. I could see this team playing with just about everyone but lacking some of the stud players needed to close out games. Probably no "go to guy" but some definite talent.

ESPN Magazine had us ranked right in between Rider and Montana State.

Maybe I'm crazy, but from what I saw in spots out of Turner, he could fill that role nicely assuming he stays healthy (Don't think he ever got his rhythm back after going out for a bit last year).

LINK

that is a free read from scout, couple interesting quotes

quote:

“Against certain people we’re going to play extremely fast, we’re going to be able to pick up full-court and defend,” Johnson said. “I haven’t had that since I’ve been here.

like to hear that, hope we see it
quote:

After that, a talented blend of newcomers and veterans will vie for playing time on a practice-by-practice basis.

“It’s always going to be a game-day decision with this group,” Johnson said.

no real surprise there

Don't forget Isaac. He'll be 6th man if not starting over Stringer. Better defender and rebounder.

I didn't, I just don't see him starting right away, but I could be wrong. But you just brought up the key to this year, we have depth! You gonna be there Saturday, just curious?
