If true, this is a good think. Rip 'em all out.

The notion that Paterno could dictate the terms of his departure, and make it sound like he was being magnanimous and altruistic, is simply the last act of a man with and enormous ego and sense of entitlement.

They never said that, it was Joe Pa that said he would finish the season. The old man is getting what he deserves. He has ruled State College for too long. It's time somebody told him, "No".

They never said they would let him finish the season. That was Joe trying to get out in front of the situation and do them the "favor" of not having to "worry" about him because he was stepping down after the season.
