And if isn't part of the NCAA's "rule", then they should set a precedent and retro-actively make up a rule
Here comes the irrational mob again.
The US Constitution strictly prohibits ex post facto laws. While the NCAA and B1G are not legal authorities it is antethetical to the concept of freedom and the rule of law to suggest this because of a bunch of self righteous angry people.
Want to know why cover ups happen? Start with theses types of over reactions.

being an embarrassment to their conference?
fortunately for the B1G, only SECtards view things in terms of conferences and not teams/schools.
The person that is accused of molesting kids has been charged and arrested. The school officials responsible for the cover up have also been arrested and charged. Other top officials that were informed of the assaults have been fired, including the long time, beloved, legendary coach, whose name and legacy have forever been tarnished. But that's not good enough. You idiots want to punish all kinds of people that had nothing to do with any part of any of this.

that only applies if ther person actually did something wrong, outside of the coverup.

The NCAA can't do anything unless Penn State broke specific bylaws, and since they're not a repeat offender they can't get the DP.
But the B1G can kick them out for any reason it wants. The Big Least kicked Temple out for sucking. They just have to decide they don't want to be associated with Penn State anymore.

I would need to see the clause in the B1G agreements that said schools can be kicked out at any time for any reason. I doubt there is a provision like that.
Temple was voted out of the Big East, not just for "sucking" but because they did not have the fan support to justify being in the Big East.
The bottom line is it would beyond stupid for the B1G to kick Penn State out. Penn State didn't do anything. Officials at Penn State did, and all those people have been arrested and or fired. The people responsible will get punished, there is no need for the conference to punish itself just because of an angry mob.

its much more likely that the NCAA whacks State Penn's administration for "failing to oversee".
that could be good for a year without a bowl, and maybe a two year probation. I cant see taking scholarships or shutting them down though.
