In terms of metered-market household ratings, it was the second highest rated regular season game on CBS in 24 years

18.8 seems like a pretty big # but what type of #'s do BCSCG usually get?

shite's so confusing.

It wasn't an 18.8

That is millions of people, not the rating

No. That is the rating, not millions of viewers

The ratings indicate the percentage of television households tuned in to that particular game.

The rating of this game was about a 6 fwiw

Not better than a BCSNCG, but better than half.

Auburn-Oregon on ESPN -- 27.3 mill
Alabama-Texas on ABC -- 30.8 mill
Florida Oklahoma on Fox -- 26.8 mill

hrm, yeah I guess the numbers being so similar I saw what I wanted to see..

Now that you say that though I'm kind of surprised its 10 million less.

Are BCSNCG normally played on saturdays or sundays?

Compared to other sports, LSU’s overtime victory drew a higher overnight than four of the five 2011 Bowl Championship Series games, five of the seven 2011 World Series games, and four of the six 2011 NBA Finals games. Saturday’s game also topped the final round of The Masters (10.4), the Women’s World Cup final (8.6, ESPN), and the Daytona 500 (8.2, FOX).

So maybe that helps to put this game into perspective
