Watching the replay as we speak and we had multiple opportunities to score a TD during the last drive before the half.

First, if Shep stays on his feet on the deep ball he caught he walks into the endzone but overall good 30+ gain..

Second, RR catches the slant that bounces off his hands.

Third, If Ware cuts to the outside instead of inside on the 3rd down run he goes 1 on 1 vs Dre Kirkpatrick #21 and I would think he gets in there.

I do agree that we throw the ball on the goal line but I wish we would have had a better play call than what we had. Maybe a sprint out, boot leg type play rather than a drop back pass with JJ.. I don't mean to sound like I'm bitching about a "victory" but gotta get a TD right there. Hope we keep rolling!

Your first and we don't need anymore. If the ball is thrown a little more in front of Shep, we score. He had to come back to the ball, thus falling to make the catch.

I was at the game and said to myself touchdown as Shep ran past the secondary. JJ was late seeing him but it was still an easy 6 if the throw were more to the middle of the field. Not sure if he was hit as he threw. After watching it on replay, I realized Shep probably should have stayed on his feet as the ball hit him right in the gut.

You mean LSU had missed opportunities too? Surely you jest...I've yet to hear anyone besides an LSU fan suggest such nonsense!!

Our receivers still don't make the tough catches. Randles ball needed to be caught

Actually it looked like he was scared he was about to get hit so he fell backwards. But hey, no need to play the blame game.

If Reid doesn't catch the ball we lose

If they had a half arse kicker we lose.

Hind sight is always 20/20, even over things you can control.

I'm glad that Alabama wasn't the only team to make mistakes tbh. Both teams made some.

I DID like Miles clock management right there with the time out and 8 seconds used perfectly.

I thought Lee should have gone in for one play to throw a fade to Randle. Who cares if they knew it was coming, it is minimal risk, doesn't take time off the clock, and I like Randle in that position.

agreed on clock management. The play that JJ threw it away, the only reciever to go out was the fb trying to sneak in the endzone after the play action.

Really, the only thing we had was speed to the outside. We rode that play all the way down the field, but ran ware against a monster 8-9 man front instead.

The good though is, our offense got real game time against an elite defense and should be able to learn from it.

Strange as it is, state might have had the second best defense that we faced

I agree with this. Wasn't as great of an assignment game that we are use to when coming into a game with extra time

he probably could have stayed on his feet but the throw was horrible...should have been delivered 2 seconds earlier once JJ realized Shep was uncovered

It's called securing the catch. It looks like he was making sure of making the catch first, which we badly needed.

I'm glad you aren't the coach. A QB substitution in this situation would have all kinds of negative effects. Think before you type.
