As a huge Miles doubter, I wanted to say this BEFORE the game

I've always been a Saban homer. I love "the process". I hate Miles' "shoot from the hip". But since the Tennessee debacle last year, it seems to me like there hasn't been anything terrible (maybe the TD Arky had at the end of the 1st half last year).

And I simply can't argue with the product being put on the field this year. I can't argue with the coaching either. In fact, I think it's been about perfect (something I never thought I'd say about Miles).

So, I'd like to eat some crow BEFORE the Bama game and say I was wrong about Miles being long-term successful at LSU. He has been great (maddening at times, but great.)

If LSU loses to Bama tomorrow, I won't feel any different (barring some bizarre end of game clock management issues!).

The thing I like about Miles is when things aren't working, he fixes it.

I'm pretty confident this won't happen

Miles will have to be masterful in handling the QB situation as he has been all year.

If we win this, it's going to be a big feather in his hat. Miles has been brilliant this year.

So, you won't feel any different, unless you do.

OK, I guess that clears that up.

Only way it will not is if there is some Ole Miss style screwup. Close, well played game and most will stay on the bandwagon.

I'm saying I think he's finally gotten past the horrific brain farts. If they come back in full force, then, again, I will change my opinion. But assuming all that is behind us, I'm not going to judge the man's success on the outcome of one game.

I think that sums up how I feel too. Even if we lose tomorrow I will still feel good about the program unless of course there is some cataclysmic type of fubar, snafu like what happened against OleMiss and UT.

I'm similar.

I'm more of a method guy, but you can't argue with Miles' results. I've always argued that Miles' niche is as Motivating CEO and not a controlling CEO. As long as he has good to great coordinators, he'll have great teams. I think he has good to great coordinators now.

the thing that you miles haters failed to realize is that even if he WAS a bottom 20 coach (he's not even close) the fact that he's a top 3 recruiter and a top 5 motivator more than offsets his "weakness".

don't kid yourself, there is a process to what Miles does. He's just not as militant as Saban. The clock disaters at OM and UT look really bad, but are probably more on Crowton and the QB and are the exception, not the rule

I was a Miles skeptic at first, but after the Bama game last year and looking at the talent they are recruiting, the coaches they are hiring, i've learned to stop worring and enjoy the ride. I do think he's gotten better over the years.

I have made my peace with Les Miles, I want him to stay. It is is not the 11 games winning seasons or beating Bama or the Yoda like press conferences. He eats grass and knows Tiger Stadium grass taste best! That is a special brand of crazy I want to see of years to come! F the process. My new motto, sit down, shut-up and enjoy the ride! GEAUX TIGERS!

I think recruiting probably accounts for at least 75% of the battle in CF. And it just seems crystal clear at this point that the recruiting is top notch. So that's a good starting base. Factor in the fact that the kids love playing for him and competent assistants and you have yourself a winning formula.
