More to the point, the Louisiana Criminal Code has nothing to do with the Louisiana Civil Code or the Napoleonic Code.

My favorite part of the whole thing is how many have the misconception that Louisiana lawyers are totally lost if they go out of state or out of state lawyers are totally lost in Louisiana.

But there is a difference between LA law an other states, right?

Yes, LA law is based on the Napoleonic Code. The other 49 are not.
