Alabama Gameday Parking Scoop

If you are adventurous or trying to find free parking, you can stop reading here. For those of you who need a surefire parking option and are willing to pay to avoid any wasted time or hassles upon arrival, I recommend following the link on the homepage of Tigerdroppings to the Bama Gameday parking site where you can purchase a printable $25.00 pass to a reserved paved lot at the Student Health Center on the East side of campus. Free Crimson Ride shuttles take you from there to the QUAD pregame and back to your car after the game. Shuttles start at 7am on Gameday.
ALERT: Some JACKWAD on eBay is selling 3 of these for $75.00 apiece. Also, all other prepurchase otpions are sold out so I wouldn't delay too much. I researched this option with a post on the SEC rant and many helpful Bammers recommended it over other options.

I parked there free in '05. The friend who drove up from BR also parked free. Maybe, like at LSU, they've changed recently.
But, if the lot doesn't have a cop there letting you in, it's ok to park.

Another option that is within about 400 yards of that lot is to get off McFarland Boulevard on the very next exit PAST University Boulevard which is Campus Drive. Cars start parking on both sides of the access lanes off this exit. It's extremely convenient getting out after the game as you are literally on the ramp to get back on McFarland and have ZERO traffic to get back on McFarland. The parking here is FREE and you're only about a 200 yard walk to one of the main shuttle stops. Hop on the shuttle and you're at the Quad in less than 10 minutes. It's one stop short of the Student Health Center Parking lot mentioned by the OP. You're welcome.

Their parking policy has changed. They are charging 20-30 dollars for designated grass and paved lots. This has been billed as The game of the Century. An unprecedented number of people are expected on campus that day. I'm sure there will be some free parking, but after what I've got invested in this day, I'm not wasting time looking for it or banking on it. I just thought some others might feel the same and appreciate what I learned.

Unless something has changed in the last week since the Tennessee game or there's been a new rule put in place only for the LSU game, the area I'm describing is available. I've parked there nearly every game last season and this season without any problems whatsoever. It's FREE and is literally a 200 or 300 yard walk depending on what side of McFarland you park on to a main shuttle pick up/drop off point. The lot you're describing is probably the best way to go especially seeing as it would be reserved but the spot I'm describing is a great alternative for those that can't purchase a reserved space.
