Stastically MJ. He's the best shot blocking guard of all time. Pippen was more versatile.

Yeah, I was about to say the same. Against his position... Jordan. Against everyone...Pippen.

I say Jordan as well. Co-worker says Pippen.

That's a tough one. Jordan is probably the better defender, but Pippen the more valuable defensive player due to his versatility.

Jordan was great but Pippen was able to guard almost anyone MJ not so much.

Pippen had the luxury of being able to focus on the D a bit more than Jordan.

Given strictly the worry of defending, jordan refuses to lose.

Pippen IMO. He could defend all five positions.

Pippen : 8x All Defensive first team, 2x all defensive second team

Jordan: 10x all defensive first team, 1x all defensive second team

Both were really good.

MJ, but like some of you have said already, pippen was more versatile.

jordan was the better perimeter defender. great reach, anticipation, and of course jumping ability. he was surprisingly strong despite his wiry frame, and his tenacity never gave people a moments rest.

pippen was a freak. he could guard anyone 1-4 and completely lock them down. Amazingly quick hops, great lateral quickness. Stronger and more able to keep smaller bigs from posting up.

That being said, it's six of one half dozen of the other. There were times where people couldn't even get the ball up court with those two on the floor.

it'd be curious to see how they would do with the no hand check league.
