I've had the game for about a year and have been having problems with it. I've waited for the periodic updates to fix the bugs but I'm still having the same problem. I can't run when I leave the doc's house in goodspring at the beginning of the game. It's like I'm encumbered but it's at the very beginning. I also can't maneuver through the pip-boy...the trigger buttons don't do anything. I have to pull up the dashboard and then it will switch to the next screen.

Anyone have experience with these problems? What do I do?

Haven't heard of that. The only problem I had with it is when I would boot up and hit "continue" instead of "load". I would watch that spinning roulette wheel forever.

This might be a dumb question, but could it be your controller? Does it work fine for other games? Because I have no clue why it would be doing that.

Unfortunately, it's not the controller. It works fine with other games. The trigger buttons also work at other times but just not within the pipboy. I rented another copy to try that disc and had the same problem. It sounds like it might be something with the xbox. I've tried all the tricks to clear the cache but no luck.

At least I have Skyrim coming.

I've had my share of problems but nothing like that. Excessively long load times, random crashes, inexplicably hostile npcs, sure... But this is a new one.

Aside from clearing the cache, I'm not sure what can be done.

Weird.

I've had some odd occurrences. Once I started some shite with the mutants at the ski resort, reloaded an earlier save, and they were still pissed at me for some reason.

Never had my rep completely reset.

My advice with this game is to save often. Usually things will go smoothly, but having a few dozen backups as a safety measure certainly doesn't hurt when obsidians excellent programming decides to frick with you.

I'm probably a good 30-40 hours in I'm past New Vegas, and I got bombarded with a shitload of missions to do. The missions involving the boomers I don't have any dialog options. Is it just me? Or is there a certain point you have to get to to get the right dialog options?

I'm ready to put this game up. Been playing since last xmas.
