Any chance we get to see him try to set us up for second and short, as Ware has been used? I can't think of a bruising back besides the true FBs, who I can't remember seeing get a carry. It's not like we just AREN'T going to try and run between the tackles...

Hilliard looked good on one of his carries last week. Ran hard, moved the defenders back and refused to go down. I don't recall him getting another carry after that.

He's a true frosh too right? What makes you think he'll get the nod?

This would be my bet! May see significant carries - meaning more than one! Great opportunity for him to get some quality and meaningful playing time against SEC competition. We all know he is rested and ready!

Think he would be the logigal choice for the bruising RB position....

Yes, he is a true freshman and I think he'll get some carries due to his hard running in the Tenn. game.

I think you'll see Magee and Hilliard get a chance. The one who does the most with it will get more carries. That's the way Miles works.

What is his physical size and weight as compared to Ware?

Would love to see him have a breakout game along the lines of Cecil against Auburn...but with a different outcome. Would make going into Tuscaloosa even more exciting.

Bigger, listed at 5' 11" 240.

Ware is listed at 5'11" but is probably a couple inches short of that. from what i have seen in person.

Idk they seem to be letting Hilliard cut his teeth in real game situation as FB. which is what they did with ware last year (or so we all seem to think). Magee is getting late game snaps. idk if that means either is ahead of the other, or Hilliard is just bigger.

Hillard may be the wild card tomorrow, guy runs like Ware, hits the hole hard & keeps churning his legs. Probably going to see a bunch of RB's tomorrow, keep the fresh legs in & keep the au defense on their heels.

The real question is whether Hilliard has the vision, agility, and speed to be an effective HB. I guess we'll find out tomorrow. Practive reports indicate that Hilliard has been punishing at HB in drills, but it hardly means it will translate to the game. Hope it does.

I went to the Roster, here is what they are saying, for what it is worth, you know how that goes

Spencer Ware RB 5-11 223 So. 1L Cincinnati, Ohio (Princeton HS)

Kenny Hilliard RB 5-11 240 Fr. HS Patterson, La. (Patterson HS)

I hope so. I'm pretty excited to see all of backs get involved to see who wants playing time the most.

I like Hilliard but Miles wont do too much with him.

Hilliard may get 3 carries at most! What he does with those will determine if he gets more. And really I doubt he gets more than 2 carries.

Blue will be the dozer like Ware, Ford will spell Blue on more occassions than he spells Ware. McGee might get 1 or 2 touches. The rest will be Jefferson. Shep will get 2 carries. One sweep, one option.

We always get hyped about new players, but Miles wont veer far from who got him here.

The better question is, Will Shep finally throw the football? LOL

Heck, I am OK with whatever Les chooses. I would think if he has intention to use Shep that way though he keeps it in the bag till the 5th, unless we get into trouble.
