Who says "go take a test kid"? Is it the SEC?

If so I would like to know if bama/auburn players have been tested lately.

Ware, Simon, and MAhieu were caught by LSU mandated testing, not SEC mandated testing.

The SEC does not test. LSU tests, and those can be by suprise or planned. The NCAA will ALWAYS give advanced notice. So, probably this was a 'suprise' LSU test since you could almost always get around an NCAA test with the notification.

Another SEC school tests their players preseason and if they fail that test they are subject to weekly drug testing. If they fail one of these weekly tests they are suspended. Other players are always subject to random testing but the few that failed that first drug test are kept on a short leash. I'm going to guess LSU has a similar policy.

LSU randomly tests throughout the year. This has nothing to do with NCAA. Several athletes from all sports are tested at a time. Policy for first time offense usually does not warrant suspension but is left to the coach's discretion.

Don't know of any other schools are, in fact, doing this, but I can say that at least the other sports, outside football do not force everyone to do preseason testing.

That is so weak. I could give a frick about their players. Our guys are the ones that fricked up. To immediately wonder about another team's players is pitiful.

Since LSU did the test I feel very confident they will be back for Bama. Maybe suspend them from practice during the bye week as well? Give them extra rest

Hate a to tell you that college kids are not stuck 1980's. At least 75 percent of college players smoke a few times a year. Weed is no more of a drug than caffeine to this generation

Thats because weed is a lot less harmful than even caffeine.

It should be on the same level.

/nevermind, I don't want this to start up again

However, if it's against the rules, then don't be dumb and put your future at risk. Now no matter what this will be brought up when both players are looking to be drafted and/or get post-season awards.

I agree and what most don't understand is alcohol is 100 times more harmful and deadly than heroin and coke combined. When people were growing up in the 70's and 80's they could not research it themselves on the internet. The believed the lies about it and are stuck on their ways

alcohol is more addicting than anything

it's not just athletes smoking weed, check the LSU police files and look at how many students in dorms get busted for weed

weed was not as prevalent back when I was in college

If this is lsu mandated then why are we suspending them at all? Honest question

I don't know about AU, but at Bama, our players aren't tested. The ones who do smoke weed are used to notify the SEC offices of players on LSU's team that are also smoking and get them suspended. Sometimes our guys even sell it to the LSU players before ratting them out. The last part is a new policy, but so far, so good.

Great question, Skippy. Why uphold a rule that you obviously thought was worthwhile enough to make when it could affect a football game?
