Heard there are on-going talks between the two. Wow... this is real. Comes from a friend in Tulane

they should have made that move about 12 years ago or however long its been since Tommy Bowden left

For Tulane's sake, I hope it happens.....but it isn't

I was suprised he'd be interested after getting burned by Tulane before.

He said this is Bob Toledo's last year. That they have had alot of interest from coaches across the country. Tulane is finally going to pay in neighborhood of 1 to 2 million for a head coach and pay assistants comparable to what BCS schools are paying. He's my neighbor, so I seriously doubt he would tell me this if not true. I just asked him when was Tulane going to finally get serious about winning.

As a reference, Bob Toledo is making around $600,000.

It's abouttime the admin. start taking football serious. A small new stadium near campus would really help as well

I've also been told about the Rich Rod rumor by someone close to Tulane's AD...
Coach O would be a better fit, imo.
He can recruit Louisiana like no other and his system wouldn't take years to get put in place like Rich Rod's (see UM).

I think O is not cut out to be a head coach.
They need somebody that can spark some interest. Possibly with a pass happy or fast paced offense.

They definitely need someone that runs either some variation of the Spread: Air Raid, Spread Option, etc. Only way to make up for the talent gap.
They also need someone to recruit.
I know Frank Wilson can recruit, but I don't think he will leave LSU for a job at Tulane.
Rich Rod...I don't think he's fallen that far, unless he just wants to get back into coaching strictly because he loves it.
I think it will be an assistant somewhere that is up and coming.

Isn't Rodriguez credited for inventing the zone-read offense while he was at Tulane with Shawn King at quarterback?

Bob Toledo just resigned.
