Saw a liquor permit request in The Advocate today
for The Italian Bowl. Guess I am out of the loop
but it seems to be the same address where Mestiva
was, maybe they moved?

Was this in the corner in the oak grove place? Where 50 other restaurants died?

is this the place that was then Red Stick Bistro? If so (and I know this is old news) it will be a Sante Fe Cattle Company soon. In fact, I finally saw a "coming soon" sign for the first time on my way to work today.

Not the same place, this place is right across from Frank's. It's next to the Tiger Bait Store.

Looks like it..

And it seems like there is a neverending line of people waiting to jump off of that cliff.

LSUTygerFan, Sammy's seems to have poured their parking lot and the framework is going up.

Yeah, I saw that over the weekend. Whatever happened to the "no sammies in that spot" movement?

What's up 'Slash? Didn't Sammie's have to change
the footprint of the restaurant to meet some
zoning law or I may be thinking of something
else.

No the property was part of the Robert Penn Warren piece. It was an argument with the previous owners and their bank. The portion where Sammys is going was broken out of that parcel and sold about a year or so ago to Steve Bonfanti, who pretty much owns the properties and buildings for Sammys or a big chunk of it.

Then the other parcel went to Sheriffs sale a couple weeks ago. Not sure the outcome on it.

Yeah, I remember reading something about this on here in one of the other Sammie's threads.Didn't remember exactly what it was about. Either way, i'm glad to see it's actually getting built. And they avoided some of the restaurant death traps in p-ville. mestizo, red-stick.
