This was the first time I was getting annoyed at TM7 trying to strip the ball so much. He used to wrap up on a solo tackle and try to strip once he had backup to ensure the guy wasn't going to break one but it seemed like he was only caring about the strip today. Seems kind of like he is worried about the glory of the turnover instead of playing good defense. Oh and IB4 alledging I am player bashing. He is one of my favorite players on this team and I hope this was his worst game of the season. Maybe the Heisman dreams are clouding his on field decisions though?

He needs to learn to only do that when he has help

When the guy is in the open field, get him on the ground

I only noticed him doing this once, on the long reception by Rogers.

That's just who he is. Yeah it didn't work out yesterday but he has the school record for forced fumbles.

I don't think so. It is different than in the past, he wants the big play, which is understandable. I noticed it 3 times too. But I do think the coaches will nipp it in the bud and it will change.

Very true. Thank you for posting a decent response instead of the standard rantardisms

I agree. His open field ball strip attempt plus a very favorable spot got Tennessee that first down.

I agree here, too many players have gotten away from making the tackle and stopping the play. They seem hell bent on stripping the ball all the while the receiver/running back continue to gain valuable yardage! Make the stop and if you hit them hard enough or they are carrying the ball like a loaf of bread, you'll get your fumble.

Meh, when he does this 99% of the time he has his guys not far behind.

Seemed like he was trying to hard yesterday. He will get it all figured out.

You don get his number of takeaways from Not trying to do what he is doing. That's like wanting to run Richardson half as much and expect the same results.

Not so sure about this because nearly all of his strips have been in gang tackle situations.

going after the ball won the saints a super bowl. Nothing wrong with what he did, it just isn't always going to work out.

The refs gave the guy the 1st down too, he wasn't even close to the line
