Will there be a surprise recruit no one is talking about very much?

Good point--It looks like Miami will face NCAA scrutiny pretty soon and Jimbo's FSU Seminoles aren't playing as well as most had predicted. Of course, we would get a great thrill out of Mario Edwards switching to LSU, but since his father went to FSU, I still think that is doubtful. Plus, his name has been mentioned quite a bit lately--I really meant someone who may not be listed by the recruiting gurus as strongly considering the Tigers at this time.

Ego Ferguson was the biggest surprise commit to me, Phil Loadholt wasn't rated as high as a juco prospect so I couldn't say he was a surprise to myself. Montgomery had LSU as a leader for awhile, not sole leader, but definitely one of the leaders. I never read or heard anything much about Ferguson being interested enough in LSU for him to end up there, and people were hardly even counting him as part of the class. Maybe thats just the recruiting media screening out the stuff they may not want to get out.

I really doubt Mario Edwards comes here, but any one of these recruits would be a pleasant surprise:

Dwayne Stanford/Dante Fowler/Channing Ward/Tracy Howard/Deon Bush

I'm really hoping we land at least one of these guys.

Each year there always seem to be a surprise recruit. Most of them turn out to be better than the highly ranked ones.

There always seems to be one or two every year. Hopefully it will be a big Wr like Stanford and a DT.

Thanks for the heads-up on Noah Spence. I had not seen his name mentioned in connection with LSU recruiting. That's the type of thing I was hoping for when I started this thread.
