PPR league. Guy is offering me A. Johnson and 10th rd pick next year for Jeremy Maclin and a 4th rd pick next year. Johnson won't be eligible for keepers, Maclin will (at an 8th rd pick price).

What say the board? Will Johnson be that much of an upgrade over Maclin going forward? The rest of my team is loaded, and I do have a legit shot for a championship this year.

You should post the rest of your team, bench included to give us a better understanding if you REALLY need Johnson who could be on the shelf for a few more weesks.

If you want to win now, which it appears you are in great shape of doing, you take AJ.

I had drafted Kenny Britt also, which would work out perfectly if he still had a knee.

Right now I have already lost my 5th rd pick and picked up an extra 10th rd pick through other trades. My keepers look to be pretty set - Cam (11th rd value), F Jackson (8th rd value) and Gronkowski (15th rd value).

your team isn't THAT loaded man. Cam Newton is good, but do you really expect Kevin Kolb to fill the void during the bye week, or if Cam goes down? Your entire season is pretty much riding on Cam Newton. You have solid RB's, and a decent set of WR's. You need another Tight End as well.

I would probably not make that trade.

ETA: Johnson is out for at least another week or two. That's without any setbacks.

not sure if serious?

teams with Rodgers, Brady, Brees, etc have to worry about byes. It's one week.

Forte, Bradshaw and FJax are just solid

3 top 10 backs in a PPR

and a decent set of WR's.

AJ and Fitz is decent

not to mention Boldin and Julio as WR 3 and 4

Cam is on bye for week 9, when Kolb plays the Rams and I play the worst team in our league. So in that sense I'm ok. As for Cam getting hurt, that would definitely hurt my season. But the same can be said for alot of other teams in our league too. I don't think I can plan my season around a guy potentially getting hurt, if that makes sense.

I'm definitely a little worried about the TE situation, especially with Hernandez coming back and Brady targeting him as much as anyone else this past weekend.

Either way, thanks for the advice. Not going to be an easy decision.

I was dead serious. If Cam Newton goes down (I know this could be said about any team in the NFL), he is looking at, AT LEAST a 15 point drop each week in his final score. Kevin Kolb is not season starter material.

Bradshaw is splitting carries on a poor Giants team. Buffalo is playing completely out of their minds right now and will slow down. Jackson will have carries taken away from him because Buffalo will be forced to air it out. Forte will be fine because they have a defense that will keep games close.

He doesn't have AJ, and it's going to be roughly two weeks before he even comes back. Julio Jones is out with a hamstring injury as well. Fitzgerald is good, but being pretty much the only receiving threat on the Cardinals doesn't really help him. He's faced some horrible pass defenses so far, and only has 2 TD's this year. Boldin is solid, but he's the third option on the team behind Ray Rice and Ed Dickson. Only has 1 TD through 5 games.

dude, look around your league. if any of the top 5 QBs (which Cam is in fantasy terms) go down, every team is in deep shite.

You can't play fantasy with this mindset.

he's in a PPR and has scored double-digits in every single game this season. And is his #3 RB!!

frick, i'm 4-1 in a league w/ Bradshaw as a #1 RB

Buffalo was god awful last year and Jackson put up solid fantasy numbers.

Boldin is top 8 in the NFL in redzone targets, even after his bye.

which makes his 1 TD in 5 games even more alarming.

I just think that he should stick with his team that he has now. AJ is the best WR in the game, but if you trade for him now (while he is injured), and has a setback before he sees playing time, you've essentially put yourself in a deeper hole.

That's the whole crux of my struggle with this. I can get him for cheaper than usual right now, but obviously it's a gamble. I could hit big or it could bite me in the arse.

I'm confused, are you getting or giving Maclin?

From your OP it makes it sound like you are giving, but when you post your roster, you include AJ.

I'd take the Maclin side, that's a high pick and you are already pretty deep at WR, plus with AJs injury who knows what happens (and he's a guy who has battled injuries his whole career).

I would take the gamble. Your team already looks to be strong, but this could potentially put you over the edge.
