Playing a down has nothing to do with it. Paul Turner hasn't played a down, but his clock has started. If he transfers he won't have 5 to play 4 at his next school.
Williams enrolled but did class start before he withdrew? If not he is in the clear. 52P4

It doesn't matter if he played or not. I'm not saying it definitely did start the clock, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. I've never seen a situation like this one. He wasn't there for very long so maybe he left before a withdrawal date or something and they can get around it that way.

He wouldn't be considered enrolled, and his clock wouldn't start, unless he attended a class.
