Carolina should have challenged the Pierre fumble IMO

It looked to me, Pierre had both knees off the ground before he got touched when he slipped on the screen. The Carolina fans were begging the coaches to take a look at it. we ended up making a FG on the next play. Thoughts?

refs blew the play dead. At that point nothing can happen.

Agreed. Not down by contact. Got up to run, fumble.

the refs ruled that he was down by contact when he hit the ground. they cannot challenge a fumble that happened if he was trying to get back up.
