I'm looking for some good tamales to cook tonight. Where can I find some decent ones in Baton Rouge?

He said he wants to cook some

FWIW with what you get at Doe's Id just pick up a can of Hormel's tamales at any store. Dont notice any other difference.

I know this doesn't really answer your question since you are looking for some "to cook tonight", but Chicago Al's serves a huge tamale that is awesome.

As for something to heat and serve tonight, Micky Brown's are decent. You can find them at all of the AG stores.

Basically I am screwed. The wife is cooking a chili and I need some tamales to go with. My only options are Matherne's, who sells Ivy's Pride, and Tramonte's, but I don't know the brand they sell.

I'm pretty sure they sell Micky Brown's too. Out of Houma. Check the freezer section too. I've found beef as well as pork a few times. Pretty good.

Doe's are nasty and Cantu's closed last fall and never reopened. :-(

I've been wanting to try Pimanyolis, but it's way out of my way. One day....
