I am looking for a picture my father told me exists but I have yet to find it in numerous years of searching. It appeared in a book that he can not remember the name of.

The picture in question is of my great uncle, Pete Burge, making some kind of incredible catch against Tulane to tie the game in 1933. I have found articles/obituary referencing the play just no pictures.

Also if anyone has any team pictures from the 1930's-1940's because I believe my Grandfather may of been on some of the late 30's teams as well. ( I have found his track medals from Penn Relays and SEC Champs)

I know this board is in turmoil with other things but if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get some things framed for my Dad for his birthday. Thanks everyone.

1933 is a little before most of these whippernsappers were born.

It will take some time for the old codgers to find this thread.

Good luck.

It is in Dan Hardsty book LSU The Louisiana Tigers on page: 92

It was a one handed catch over 2 Tulane defenders, the TD allowed LSU to tie Tulane. Final score 7-7 vs a 6-3-1 Tulane team.

I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to (I have the book at home), but it's got a kick-arse photo of the ending of an LSU-Tulane game from the 30s, where the fans spilled on the field, armed with sugarcane sticks they'd pulled from the fields that were surrounding Tiger Stadium in those days, and the LSU and Tulane fans proceeded to beat the hell out of each other with them.

You may want to contact Pete Finney. You never know but he may have more information/photos for you.
