Miles' handling of J. Jefferson and playing time

Sort of long, and if you don't want to read it, just move on; however, you might like it. BTW, in accordance with ususal standard practice on this rant, this is where I am supposed to curse you out, denegrate you intelligence or your sexual preferences, or insult you. I don't beleive in that. I bleieve in courtesy, and I am extending it to all. Here goes.
MY OPINION ONLY, but I think Miles handled JJ's insertion back into the team masterfully. To me, the longer he waited, the more attention it drew upon the team, Lee, and Jefferson. He certainly prepped the team, or at least key players, about the reactions and his intentions. MIles took the air out of the sails of the critics because, by the end of the game, this was a non-issue except among the sportswriters. My son told me that you could hear the boos resounding on the TV. What would those boos be like if we waited and waited for several games?
A bad situation at best was set up to be brought to the forefront earlier, and it evaporated quickly after he had some success on the field. Coming in to score the TD after Lee drove them down certainly appeared that he "cheated" Lee of a moment of glory, but what it really did was force every fan, idiot or not, to have to cheer for Jefferson. JJ needed that. And for those of you that claim you weren't booing JJ, only Miles, I would have to say that you were cheering for Jeferson and not the TD. As you argue about your intentions, you also argued earlier about your previous intentions, and no one believed that then or now. Some of you were disingenuous about the whole issue.
I also believe that Miles cemented the realtionships of the palyers to one another so that it is now "us against the world." However, it is not us against the fans. JJ is NOW a part of the team once more. Lee cheers for him. Players defend him and chastise the fans. We are now stronger as a team than we ever were. The QB POSITION is now more stablizied with renewed faith in them by the team. You also need to consider that two more QBs, Mett and Rivers, benefit from this stability also.
The more I watch Les Miles, the more I am beginning to think that he is crazy as a fox and a more masterful student of human behavior than I previously suspected. I can see why kids want to play for him. Hell, I want to play for him and I am 63 years old.
Now we get ready to play Florida without a sure distraction about when will Miles put JJ in. The obvious answer now is --- any time he wants to --- becuase the issue of beginning play is moot. We may have a small QB controversy, but it obvious to me the these two men have two different skill sets and mind sets. They each bring a new wrinkle to the planning of a def coordinator. We now have another weapon which will come in as handy as it did last year when Lee had to come in in a few key games. I am betting that JJ gets into a few games, changes the dynamic of the circumstances, and produces parts of the victory for us. Watching Bama last night leads me to beleive we will need every person and tool at our disposal.

Wasted? Did LSU need another TO in that half and didn't have one? Or do you think that TO's are only to be used in the last 2 minutes of each half?

Obtuse much?
Quit belittling Miles. Like he was gonna know how many TOs he WOULd need by halftime with the score 0-0, in the 1st qtr?
Just because he has run out so many times before, doesnt give you the right to take a shot at him in that situation
LEAVE MILES ALONE!

so you ignore flaws until there are severe consequences?

NIce try. But like your other posts it is another fail.
Time outs can be called anytime they are deemed needed. You don't have to wait until the end of the half.
If a coach thinks a time out is needed then by definition it is NOT wasted. It has supplied a need.
Logic isn't your strong point is it?

You do understand the concept of coaching don't you?

Well written! Miles will do whatever he thinks best. He should have a PHD in psychology on his wall at home. However, I do NOT think (like others) that we have a QB controversy. JL is OUR quarterback in 2011. It is a true blessing to have a backup with the experience and talent as JJ. The QB situation at LSU is solid and will prove to be the difference against formidable competition (i.e. Ala)!

Beautifully handled. Said: No, he's not starting but he's not punished either. He will get significant snaps. Team, get ready for it. Opponents, get ready for it. Fans, get ready for it.
He giftwrapped the message with 6 points and a demonstration of what Jefferson can still offer.
Nice.

Inserting Jefferson near the goal line is not a problem. I do not believe that either QB is a complete player; therefore, I have no problem playing both as we did last year. Lee was not having a good day. Our best quarterback is Mettenberger, but it is clear that he is not really in the mix at this time.

I was referencing the phantom 12 men on the field penalty. It seems to be the rantardo whine of the day.

Well, can't please everybody, and I was referring to the larger picture and circumstance.
