We have a great ground and pound going with a pretty vanilla attack, but I really would like to see us pass more and obviously get the TE's involved..

Nope.

Our offense is just fine with the ground control game. Pass enough to keep the defense honest, take your shots when they're there, and pound the rock.

Actually I enjoy slamming Ware and Ford at them til they wear out. PA off of that has been working well. Seems like we've had 2 touchdowns where someone was wide open for a TD b/c the box was so stacked.

I would like to see that as well. Not sure if we should pass more though. I think we have a decent mix right now even if not quite balanced.

Well I do think it has been working, but we are getting into our meatier defensive line games and the teams have really been putting 8 guys in the box during the first half.

I like what we do but part of me says we could throw it a few more times. Heck sometimes I wish we would just give it to Ford on the outside instead of right up the gut when it looks like all 22 guys are on the line.

So no ones worried about the bigger/better D lines we will be facing starting next week?

Our Y routes are gonna have to be utilized vs UF and gumps or they'll have to put in JJ, imo.

Yes, we desperately need to strike fast with passing plays and keep our defense on the field more.

Seemed like we passed quite a bit at Mo-town, but I prefer the ground. It's safer.

Exactly what I was wanting to do! IDIOT. I'm glad we will be facing cupcake Dlines the rest of our schedule. We are going to have to stretch the field more than we are now.

Football is a chess match..if you pound the ball early, then loosen up the D by play action pass to make linebackers stay honest, then go back to ground and pound...come the 4th quarter they get tired of hitting a bulldozer and usually olay arm tackles come thereafter. We are fine man. Just chill out. The only thing I can see we dont do that id like to see is more drags or seams behind the linebackers with peterson to keep the LB's more honest on the run. Other than that, I love our game plan. Defenses are beat the frick up come 4th quarter.

No. We aren't the Big 12. That is why they have not had success lately in big championship type games...or in most bowl games in general. Need balance.

So you think our cupcake oline can't handle Florida or Bama? When we need to throw more, we will. Remember the Alabama game last year?

The problem with passing alot is that when you don't complete the pass you have increased your yardage needed to be gained on the next play. For example, we run the ball and get our usual 3-4 yards. Now it's second and 6-7. You attempt a pass and don't complete it. Now you are in 3rd and long. This happened way to much last year and was one of the reasons we sucked at 3rd down completions. If you can make 3rd and shorts, well then the defense has to make a choice to stop our bruising short yardage running game so they stack the box...well now you've put RR and OBJ out on islands. I like our chances for a conversion then.

Nope, but I do wish we'd get the TEs more involved in the passing game.
