quote:

“I went to LSU and they’re pretty much a run dominant team,” Ridley said. “You don’t get much passing with them. Down there everybody is stacking the box — there’s eight or nine in the box. Our quarterback play just hadn’t been up to par. That’s something that we struggled with, but we were very talented.”

quote:

“I actually talked to Tom about that (Wednesday), to get in the game and see these gaping holes that are there — it’s not everybody stacking the box — it’s like Christmas for me to get out there and see all this green grass,” Ridley said. “So I just hit it and take it full speed every time.”

I don't think he was denigrating or insulting in any way. He was stating something that most fair-minded, rational people should agree is fair and very, very arguable, even if they choose to disagree on the finer points.

Ask Lee and Jefferson about the comment and they'll probably both say, "That's fair - #34 carried the load for us the last couple of years."

As I said many times over the past two seasons, "Thank G-d for Stevan Ridley!".

pretty much the truth, Jefferson and Lee, mostly Jefferson sruggled with passing, so every team they faced last year knew they were gonna run.

That plus the fact that Crowton's formations got to be very predictable. The opposition knew what play was going to be ran just by the personnel group and formation line-up.

Thank you. Now all the people pretending Jefferson is good can read the truth. He is not good.

Could you guys imagine if Ridley were still here??? The 3 headed monster of Ridley, Ware and Ford!!! That would be insane.

After 3 years, we just started taking advantage of teams stacking the box. Basically, they will continue to do it until you show them you will burn them for it.

Lee has finally started making them pay for it. It will soon stop, if Lee continues at the helm. Otherwise, we'll keep taking the free touchdowns until they learn. See WVU.

We're presently a much better team than the one that played in the Cotton Bowl. Beeter O line, and though JJ did well in the game, better QB play so far. SR would be leading the SEC in rushing with this line and the passing game we've had.

So is he going to become the feature back? Do we pick him up in fantasy?

After star status in the NFL he may make a good coach.

Ridley is obviously a racist and/or doesn't know as much about football as some of the Rantards that get all bent out of shape when someone posts anything about stacking the box on Jefferson.

As I said way back when he went to the Pats in the 3rd round as I predicted, he will be the feature back there. Its just a matter of time. He is much more talented than Green-Ellis. I expect him to get 10 carries or so this week. His pass catching skills out of the backfield have been impressive so far as well in the preseason.

Go Stevan!!
