Supposed to confuse blockers. They can't say "I always block the 3rd guy from the right." They turn and run an when they look back there's a different tiger in front of them every time. Its pretty confusing.

staying in your lanes is the main thing.

Seems the depth of kicks has improved.

I dont think there will be any surprise on-side kicks from that formation

I like it as long as the kicker is kicking deep. From what I could tell the alignment means the guys in the back rows are running a few yards further and I wonder about fatigue issues. But I guess you would need to do a lot of kick-offs for that to become an issue, nice problem to have.

actually it doesn't. aside from the ones we're kicking in the end zone we haven't done a very good job of covering kick-offs.

Maybe you should go back and watch our coverage against Tavon Austin, one of the best return men in college football.

The line up confuses the receiving team, and they take different lanes each time, confusing the receiving team's blockers even more.

They did a great job last Saturday. Austin averaged 16.7 yards per return. That is sick.

IMO it sets up a great middle onside kick.

I am happy that the kickoffs during the WV game were kicked past the 20 yard line.

The coverage has been pretty good. The problem was the depth against Miss State and NW State. LSU is ranked 14th at 17.18 per return.
