We'll be there for the game this Saturday morning, and we'll be playing the halftime show. I'm flying in from Denver tomorrow night. Any other Ranters on here who are Alumni Band Members going to the game? Where are you travelling from?

As long as you played in the band last year or earlier, and you're not presently in the current band, you're eligible.

A few years ago, I had a guy marching on my left who had played in the band the previous year and was 22 years old; on my right was a guy who had played in the band in 1936 and was 82 years old!

All alumni members of all ages are welcome!

I know a few of us old-timers are gonna be there (like from when Roy played in the drum line, long before his directing days). Elle, it's still a rush, you're missing out!

Hmm, I remember seeing the alumni band guys when I was in Tiger Band, and I just thought they were very old or else very lonely. I accept that this is a sweeping generalization, just an observation through my *then* 19 year old eyes.

Having said that, I would love to play music in Tiger Stadium for any reason, in any group...so, good luck to all alumni band members playing this week.

Well, just keep this in mind: The women in the Alumni Band get older, too!

I think this is why we get such a loud welcome and roar when we march out--Everyone thinks alumni means we all played band in the 1930s, and they're amazed we can even walk anymore!

It's really a rush, man, no matter how old you are. And, thanks for the kind words.

We were thrilled today when we were told that report time was 8 am and not 6 am like we thought it would be. So it could be worse.

Yeah, man! I haven't seen you at the game since that rainstorm of a game for Fresno State!
How's LA? I was there on business 2 weeks ago.
