A story on the WVU trip. A bit harsh, but maybe true.

funny every story you hear of the postive good times come from the horses mouth, all the negative ones are 3rd party accounts

Kelly, I am not dissing you in any way.

Before this game, I told Tiger fans to watch out. I didn't foresee any guy getting dragged out of a car and being sent to the hospital.

But what I did say was that this fanbase in particular has a huge chip on its shoulder and may take, while not drastic measure, but further measures not to "disrespect" them.

I have seen it before, called them out. They got offended. They say that it's a small percentage of fans.

But I have never heard of so many fans saying that if invited to WVU for another game, their consensus answer would be, "No Thanks."

BS.....I was there and can promise you I've never heard more 4 letter words directed at me. Most of the people I encountered over the age of 35yrs old were decent people who were very hospitable, the ones under not so much.

The only exception to this was the WVU couple I had sitting above me in the stadium. I wish I would have taken a picture of these winners, the guy looked like he could have been homeless, and his squeeze (who was hanging all over the 20yr old LSU fan sitting next to them) with bleach blond hair and cotton candy blue highlights.

I cannot disagree more. I have travelled to stadia across the country, and I have never encountered any fanbase so universally kind and welcoming. We were on a bus from DC that broke down 77 miles from Morgantown, and two WVU fans stopped and offered to carry two of us to the game. They drove us the whole way and flatly refused even gas money. When we got to the game, we could not find the DC tailgate, but had our pick of West Virginia tailgates inviting us to free food and drink. The entire night, even during the asswhipping, I did not encounter one single mean or obnoxious Mountaineer fan. They're just the coolest, nicest and most generous fans I've ever encountered.

You have no idea how lucky you are. Ever seen House of 1000 Corpses?
