We all agree that Lee has looked great in the tough games they have played so far. I really like what I'm seeing in the play calling that we never saw with JJ in there. Lee is throwing the ball down field rather than 2 yards short of the first down marker. This is a telling sign for me and shows that the coaches believe in his decision making and arm. Great job Lee and keep it up. Now if we can get RR and RS to stop dropping passes.

I agree the play calling is really helping Lee be confident and efficient. A lot of small stuff mixed in with downfield throws when its wide open.

I dont think Stud can be given enough credit for the work that has been done on offense. We arent gonna have 500 yards but we have put up 40 points a game pretty much (taking out that Miss St game)...

The passes to RS that "could" have been caught would have been very hard catches because the ball was underthrown. I would have liked to see RS try for them though. The drop in the endzone by RR was a perfectly thrown ball and clearly a "drop".

Yeah those were definitely tough catches for Shep, but I would have liked to see him go to the ground and make an attempt instead of trying to grab it in stride at his shoelaces.

That's right, and a big reason why is b/c our D gives us the ball at midfield

I agree, some of the misses by RS were off target and would have been difficult catches for the best receivers out there. It just seemed like he didn't really try to catch them and gave up on the throw. I wasn't on the field though and things like that are easy to judge when watching from the TV. It's a completely different situation when you are the one on the field making the plays. And kudos to RS on the one catch he made when he went up in the air and reached behind him. Excellent hands to hang on to that one.

RS is a quality player. The hype coming out of high school is his biggest problem. There are higher expectations of him so making a few good plays a game doesn't cut it w/ our fans. If he was just another guy coming out of high school, he'd be considered good.

On Lee's long throw to OBJ, I said, "someone is wide open" when Lee threw cause the way he threw the ball made me think he was super excited. Almost overthrew OBJ but it went for 6 and I just kind of laughed. Got to be a great feeling as a QB to look up and see that.

someone PLEASE tell him. give up the idea of taking every ball to the house. get down on your side and make the fricking catch. advance the ball.

I said the same thing yesterday and the defenders were like,
well, they were low uncatchable balls.
NOT REALLY. La Fell would have gone down and stayed down and MAYBE made the catch.

And besides, against the big hitters, going down is a smart thing to do, to live to talk about it.

Regarding Lee and our WRs:

Beckham= who knew Wendell Davis would come back to play for us again ? Seriously, this kid "just" runs great routes and catches everything near him. By the end of the season, he will be the 1st option on 3rd downs, because he is money.

Randle= basically uncoverable, but if he could only improve his hands he'd be unstoppable

Shepard= the "reggie bush" factor; you want him in space.

Lee= his mechanics are great for him; to hell with "throwing off his back foot". Watched him under pressure a few times including the pass to Shepard; has a super quick release. you have to force him to mess up mentally- you can't really affect the throw itself because it's out so quick. That pass to Shep it looked like he was gonna be sacked, but he hit Shep like he had all time to throw.

Lee is obviously getting better each game. It is his team now. By the time we play Alabama, the coaches will be confident that he can do anything. Ilyou gotta give the offensive line too, they have done a great job protecting him. It's good to have chris faulk. I trust the QB in his and hursts hands

RS is 3 weeks behind the rest of the players in game conditions. It will take probably another two games for him to get into the flow of things. While not the best receiver, he did show improvement in the spring, but I believe that was derailed by the suspension. He may have been practicing, but he likely saw fewer snaps than the guys who would actually play. It appears he has also lost his spot to ODB and it will not be recovered. However, I do believe he will begin making plays on offense.

When you make the throws asked of you, and you play with the desire for victory. The play calling becomes secondary.

Exactly what I am saying. I would liked to have seen him lay out for those balls. It sure is nice to only have little things like this to complain about though, isn't it?

Yes, that was a tough catch and shows he can do it.

Throwing on first down is really important. It shows confidence in yuor QB as well as it is usually aginst a slower pass rush. They have thrown on first down quite often.

In fact, I think Lee's stats against MSU on first down was 8/8.
