Only one glaring weakspot left: Linebacker

I think if there's one position on the field that is a decisive weakness for us that powerful teams, like Alabama, can exploit, it's our linebacking core--specifically at MIKE.
Baker is a very solid player. Hatcher is mediocre at best. Francois has hardly seen the field this season. Minter is the guy who needs to step up and grab hold of the position. I think he's been decent thus far, but I worry about his size (yes, 235 sounds stout, but he barely pushes 6'0''). I don't know where Barrow and Jones were tonight. Maybe Muncie is a better matchup in the short passing game.
How do ya'll see things shaking out come Florida and Alabama?
The group I like most (in a 3 backer set) is:
Baker
Minter
Barrow/Jones
If this is a problem moving forward, I think we should at least consider moving Loston to LB...especially if we land Landon Collins for next year. We have plenty of talented bodies in the secondary. The clear dearth of talent is at LB. Besides, I think Loston plays like and projects better as a LB. At 6-2, 220, he's only 10-12 pounds away.
Also, I'd love to see KeKe Mingo in a psuedo-LB role in running situations. Gets one of your best players on the field, and he's physical enough to shed blocks and make tackles. We can't keep throwing Hatcher out there and expect teams not to pick on him.

Anytime WVU got a big play, Hatcher was involved somehow. He is really bad.

Did I see this right: was Derrick Bryant playing LB a little? I couldn't tell if he was coming in on Nickel and Dime packages or being thrown in at LB.
He's too good to be sitting the bench behind two all-Americans. And he's a SR.

Agreed on Hatcher. We have to get him off the field.

We go with 4-2-5 ~75% of the game mostly to mask the fact that we are lacking at LB, so I agree. This could be a concern where we play big physical teams (which we haven't yet). Hoping Minter steps up and becomes the clearcut #2 backer

This is absolutely an area that needs addressing! Trent Richardson could cause us some problems.

still think KEKE should be at LB....got enough depth at DE...him and Maclin should be at LB...with Baker...KeKe is fast enough, Maclin can hold the Middle and Move Baker to strong or weak side with Keke on the other...
WLB KEKe
Mike Maclin
Strong Baker.

I have no idea what Maclin is doing at DE. Kid was a MLB if I've ever seen one. 6'-3'' 245 with fairly good speed.

KeKe was a LB at WM im pretty sure.. and im pretty sure hatcher was in coverage on austin when he busted for that 70 yard reception.. then again, why is a LB on their WR that was red hot tonight?

we need a playmaker at LB. Loston and KeKe are too good not to be in on every snap
