Do the Rules of Conference Expansion apply to the SEC?

Four people (Delaney, Scott, Slive and Swofford) know the rules at this point. I'm definitely not one of them.
So if the expansion rule its about TV sets and $, I get A&M. I can sort of get Mizzou. BUT, if these are the rules we need to rip the ACC to shreds, poach VT and UNC and take FSU for good measure. They know we are coming. That's why they upped the ante and then for good measure got some replacement ahead of teh poaching. If its about TV money then $60 million is a cheap down payment for a better TV deal. If those are the rules.
I always thought that the SEC was different. We know that the SEC Office always managed to squeeze a buck out of everything, but I always felt that the reason why we got good TV packages that outperformed our market share was that we had the best on-field product.
Of the teams discussed recently, I would submit that get WVU over Mizzou. I liked the fact that the last time the SEC expanded, we went after the fan passion of USC and Ark. I know they were not the first choices, but they work and work well.
What separates the SEC for the other conferences is the Lunacy. I would further submit that the lunacy and passion ignites fans to pony up more money for tickets to get better facilities and coaches. It also makes boosters get "creative" in doing what they do as well.
The SEC is the closest you'll get to the NFL without actually being there. To keep it that way, I suggest that the SEC should keep looking for more lunacy. The idiots are out there, and they'll fit in just fine. We are playing by someone else's rules and they're written to snuff us out.
The rules have already taken care of the Big East and Big 12. I for one don't want the "Rose Bowl Coalition" running college football. The SEC is the best conference and will continue to do so if we don't lose sight of what makes them the best.
