Starting today:

quote:

When Wendy's decided to remake its 42-year-old hamburger, the chain agonized over every detail. A pickle chemist was consulted. Customers were quizzed on their lettuce knowledge. And executives went on a cross-country burger-eating tour.

The result? Dave's Hot 'N Juicy, named after late Wendy's founder Dave Thomas. The burger — with extra cheese, a thicker beef patty, a buttered bun, and hold the mustard, among other changes — will be served in restaurants starting Monday.

I'm not saying that I rank Wendy's as one of my top 10 burgers, but I will miss their old burgers that were pretty tasty. I personally like white onion, and mustard on my burger. I also like the old bun and the old pickles.

Anyway, thought y'all might find it interesting.

P.S. I hate this BS of not fully wrapping the burger anymore. It's fine if they do this for dine-in, but it gets cold real fast when it's to-go.

I've never had a fast food restaurant do this.

When will Wendys and Burger King admit that it is NOT the product. It is the marketing and other factors.

Most Wendys and Burger Kings have outdated restaurants, not enough staff, terrible benefits for their staff, poor training programs and are out marketed by a bunch of other fast food choices.

Oh, it's not some trend, it's just a Wendy's recent-development.

I find that (when I would eat there.. haven't in probably a year) generally Wendy's is fast as hell to getting me food. I've gone to a Wendy's, placed my order, and before I even was finished paying for my order the food was out.

The benefits for staff and all that.. I have no idea.

Burger Kings are just shitty all-around. I've never been to a BK that's fast. Their system is shite.

This is unfortunate. I think Wendy's has the best fast food burgers, at least in the Lafayette area. Whenever I ate there my burgers were always right off the griddle adn really tasty.

Sonic wraps it like that in paper, but then puts it in a foil pouch that is folded shut.

I remember my grandpaw telling me that when I was a kid.

I dont see any difference in service quality between wendy's or BK and McDonalds so why would I give a damn about the benefits its employees get? Poor training programs??

How to put cheese on a burger and nuke it 101 isnt taught at all fast food burger joints?

Burger King is guilty of microwaving all of its sandwiches. No way lettuce should taste that hot.

Wendy, OTOH, serves one of the better fast food burgers when compared to Jack in the Box, McDonalds, BK and Whataburger - and it doesn't appear to be nuked.

I ate at wendy's yesterday and orderd my first burger from there in at least 5 or 6 years. Anyway I'm looking around and see the nutritional chart on the wall. Guy I worked with got a Double Baconator 63 grams of fat and 970 calories. 1/4 lb w/ cheese that I orderd had 26 grams of fat. Our medium fries added 21 grams of fat.

Looking at the new chart online, fat content went up. Dave's Hot N Juicy 33 grams of fat.

I always knew FF wasn't healthy but seeing it made me want to .

How would that meal compare to say eating a USDA Prime cut of steak with a loaded baked potato though? I really would have thought the double baconator would have been worse than that.

How could they put Dave's name on something he did not approve? That really upsets me. Wendy's died when he died.

I'm not sure, but his double baconator and fries total included the following suprises:

1400 calories
750 calories from fat
84 grams total fat
31 grams saturated fat
2500 mg sodium

quote:

On a 2,000-calorie diet, the recommended intake of total fat is 65 g, saturated fat is 20 g.... sodium on a 2,000-calorie diet is based on 2,400 mg of sodium a day.

Some good to it:
8 fiber (g)
65 protien (g)
20% Vitamin A
50% Vitamin C
45% Calcium
90% Iron

Not sure what you'd expect when you get something with a half a pound of meat, EIGHT pieces of bacon, and two pieces of cheese PLUS fries...
