Is it a set thing this year that wherever College Gameday is it is also the 8:00pm et ABC prime time game?

Every now and again, gameday will be at a location (usually SEC) that is game of the week. For instance, they might go to Bama/LSU this year, but obviously that game is on CBS so the ABC primetime game will be a different match up...one which Herbie will fly to once gameday is over.

Ya Herbie will fly to the venue if he HAS to. That being said, if there is a game that is relatively close in stature, they'll go there.

Whether game day will be at Bama/LSU or Oklahoma/A&M will be decided based on the records coming into that weekend. If all teams are undefeated look for Gameday to be in Norman. ABC will undoubtedly be broadcasting the OU/A&M game.

It's not this year, it's been ever since Herbie started doing commentary on the ABC primetime game. They'll have 1 or 2 games that they do elsewhere a year, but for the most part it's ABC.

This isn't really that hard to figure out. Besides the SEC, every other conference's "big game" will generally be on ABC/ESPN. So.... unless they go to an SEC venue (or something exotic like an Army, Navy or Notre Dame home game), wherever Gameday is will also be the ABC primetime game.

The show could easily have gone to Bama this weekend, but I'm sure they're holding out for the LSU game.
