I get that he's a great tackler/athlete, but who ever said he could dodge tacklers? Seems to me Mo Claiborne or another worthy individ. might be a more appropriate choice.

blocking on punt returns is not very good

It didn't matter who was back there tonight. He should have fair caught every single punt.

not his fault there is no blocking to give him a yard of space

Honey Badger doesn't dodge tackles, he eats tacklers.

Watch his senior year of high school highlights. I understand it was high school, but he was quite phenomenal with the ball in his hands.

we didn't exactly set up any returns tonight. not sure anyone else would have done any different. the issue right now is kickoffs, gotta find someone who can kick it further. Hairston? i dunno.

howard is a shitty punter too, but wing will hopefully be back for WVU

Fair enough, but the question still stands. How do his skills transfer to punt returns?

He had no chance on any of those. No one would have.

a big thing is just catching the punts. And he seems very sound in that regard. Gunners baring down on him does not phase him.

He's made some good moves on some returns the last couple of games. He's really fast and shifty. I don't see why not.

He was a great punt returner in HS, you can't really judge on most of the punts this year.

apparently the coaches must have seen something in practice.

We do not need a punt returned on this team. I know RR is good but I don't think it matters. No returns are going to be available so we just need sure hands. So far he has that.

I'm absolutely fine with this. And I know I'm not there for the practices or know more than the coaches. It just seems to me that there are a few more elusive guys on our team.
