I remember as an LSU student between 1970 and 1974 how we took for granted that our student I D would always get us into a home game no matter who we were playing. And we never missed a game even when we were losing. LSU's success and pressure to make more money has changed this policy to a priority point system similar to TAF. As I understand it and I may need to be corrected on this, some students don't qualify to attend an LSU football game until their junior year. That is a travesty. Since it is doubtful that this policy will not be changed as long as LSU continues its on-field success and packs the house for every game (although there were a number of empty seats last Saturday night), I would like to see a new message board established dedicated to getting unused or unwanted tickets to deserving underclassmen. I have 2 tickets to the Auburn game that I will not be able to use due to an out of town commitment. But I want to make sure they get into the right hands (a student's hands) and not some scalper. Face value would be great but I am not opposed to donating them if it is a student. We may need help from the university on this one. Since the parking fees have displaced many student tailgaters this year disrupting long standing traditions, I think we should step up to the plate and support the greatest fan base of all, the LSU students. Comments are welcome.

They have a lottery set up for incoming freshman where if there aren't enough tickets for everyone they split it were half get 3 games and the other half get the other 3 but over the last 2 years I have never actually heard of someone not getting them all, so yeah....

Dam I wished I was a student again. I could use those tics. I think it is very charitable and thoughtful to do this. Cheers to you and I hope this gains momentum. I was at LSU in the 70’s also (Class of 78) and still have one of my ID’s where they punched the card for each game attended. Also, your athletic fee was included in your tuition payment and the games were basically free. My tuition was $225 my last semester. Those were the days.

Yeah that's not true at all. There's a lottery for freshmen to get at least half of the home games and even with that, some got all the games this year.

all freshman got tickets for the home games and option for arkansas so i don't see how any student is getting screwed over. Also if a Junior doesn't get tickets, its most likely their own fault in that they didn't go to enough games the year before or didn't make it to a couple priority point games. Its not like TAF is making them pay a donation or anything. A ticket is what 13 dollars? Not expensive at all

I only got half when I was a freshman two years ago, but we have season tickets so I went to the other ones anyway

Like I said, I was not up to date on the most recent policy regarding student tickets. I just thought this would be a good thing to do for those students who want to go but for whatever reason were not able to get tickets. Since the student section always seems to have open spots then either the system is not working as efficiently as it should or those lucky enough to get those tickets don't care enough to show up. I can't believe it would be the latter.

I think you should focus your efforts on having away games more affordable for students. I understand the price is set by the home team, but I don't think you're gonna find many students willing to pay $75 for a ticket to starkville.
