Not living up to "The Shield."

Lou's speech at the start was good, as was Tommy reading the letter for Eulogy.

It's been good. I expected it to be much more serious than it has been.

Sandbox scene could have been left off. Cake mix was pretty funny.

What's the song as the ashes were being thrown, is it cream?

OK, it's over. I loved this show and watched it faithfully.

I liked the closing song- Dirty Old Town- Irish folk song.

I thought it was appropriate for this show. Not too serious and not too funny.

What a great series. As a member of the fire department, I can honestly say I am sad to see this show end. It left me scratching my head at times, but I never missed an episode. Denis Leary has always been one of my favorites, and this show brought his comedy to main stream. I feel a personal connection to all these characters and I love the way they brought Lou back at the end. That was classic, as far as him seeing dead people and all. God Bless those who perished on September 11th. God bless firefighters everywhere. Thanks to Rescue Me for maybe bringing the fire service into one more person's life.

That sounded like Flogging Molly.

I agree with this. It stayed true to itself with a good mix of comedy and drama. That's how Lou would've wanted it.

I thought the exact same thing when I heard it.

Others have mentioned it, but I thought the ending stayed true to what the show has been about. It didnt try and get over emotional or anything but rather stuck to the format which made people watch it all these years.

I actually thought this episode was pretty funny, like when Sean came up to Tommy after his speech at the eulogy I was dieing.

It was a pretty fitting end, I think its hard to wrap up a show that lasts 7 seasons but I'm pretty okay with the way things ended.

i thought it was appropriate, i just thought they would end it differently. They always seemed to tug on emotions at some certain times involving Tommy's relatives or Tommy himself. I was just waiting for one more big one.

I thought it was a good finale and kind of like real life. You know, it just kind of happens and is never quite as good as you imagine it could be or as bad as it could have been.

I was a faithful watcher of the show since the first season. I'm sad to see it go.
