Baylor apparently sent in their letter to A&M this morning relieving them of any legal threats. That should open the door for acceptance.

i think news of them standing down will start to break soon...

Take this for what it's worth....but I'm listening to Chip Brown right now (I know, I know) and he is saying that not only is Baylor not standing down, but the SEC wants assurances from all other 9 schools - and none are willing to waive their rights. He also said that the previous letter (perhaps in beebe's view, who knows) was merely to waive the Big 12's corporate right to sue.

Like I said take it for what it's worth - I hope it's not correct. Why force someone to do something they are hell bent not to do?

I heard that. and then matt mosely tweeted this

quote:

Matt Mosley
Every school in what's left of the B12, including Baylor, has agreed not to sue the SEC. Ags will announce their membership tomorrow.

I'll trust anyone over chip brown. he's nothing but a puppet

Hence my FWIW - I hope Mosley is right. He usually is dialed into Baylor I believe.

So that means it's official - Baylor IS standing down!!!

freakin Chip - dude is an SMU grad and has thousands of Aggies, Longhorns and who knows else up in arms throughout this. it is entertaining though.

The one thing that would seem strange about Chip's statement and all schools being unwilling to waive their rights- why would OU (and OSU with it) be unwilling to waive their rights if they seem to be on the way out as well, and have essentially done the same thing we did just a few weeks after us. Doesn't make sense. I get why Baylor won't, and I would understand the north schools and the whorns and Tard (assuming they want to keep the Big 12 together) but OU makes no sense.

I must say that I DO feel bad for the real Baylor fans out there. Their school is getting hammered here in Texas by the media, and their president is to blame for this circus. C-USA could tell them to frick off now because of this. (which would be their best hope of a conference)
