This has possibly been posted before, but I couldn't find it and don't care if it has.

1. 09/03 - Oregon (season opener) I am very happy that LSU got them in the opener and not a few weeks later in say WVU's spot.

2. 09/10 - Northwestern State played Delta State on 09/01 and will be coming into this game with two extra days, not that it matters.

3. 09/15 - Miss St plays Auburn the week before. Big advantage for LSU to have tuneup game while AU has full concentration of State

4. 09/24 - West Virginia plays at Maryland and now the Thursday night gave gives LSU two extra days to rest/prepare

5. 10/01 - Kentucky plays Florida the week before

6. 10/08 - Florida gets Alabama at home and much like LSU, Bama physically wears teams down and they often struggle the following week.

7. 10/15 - Tennessee goes to Georgia in what should be a closely matched game.

8. 10/22 - Auburn gets Florida at home.

BYE WEEK

9. 11/05 - Alabama and LSU both come into this game after a bye week, Bama plays Tenn on 10/22

10. 11/12 - Western Kentucky plays Florida International in a game that only their parents will be watching.

11. 11/19 - Ole Miss gets a tune up against LaTech, fortunately Ole Miss will still suck

12. 11/26 - Arkansas plays Miss State at home, hopefully by late in the year MSU comes in highly regarded and Arky can't maintain emotional level for two big games in a row.

All in all, nobody holds a scheduling advantage over LSU except for the unavoidable home field advantage. I wish Bama played a decent team before LSU but the cupcakes/bye weeks are spread out nicely.

great post. as difficult as our schedule is I like who our opponents have to play prior to playing us. And fwiw, Saban has a poor W-L record after bye weeks.

Yep, 2 of the 3 hardest SEC games (Florida and Arkansas) play tough teams a week before us. The other (Alabama) has a BYE week just like we do..we laid our schedule our perfectly considering the amount of tough games we play this season.

Seems on paper to set up about as well as you could hope for.

Even the second tier teams (MSU, UF and AU) come off of harder games than LSU.

Florida playing Alabama a week or two before LSU has benefited us recently.

Most noticeably 2005 and 2010.

We do have a tough schedule this year but its doable. We already took care of Oregon away from TS. We get a tough game against Moo State in Starkville and WVU is tough but we should be able to beat them. Then most of the SEC schools come to us. Florida, Auburn, Arkansas and Kentucky come to us. Ole Miss is Ole Miss and we catch Tennessee in a down season. We only have the one really tough road matchup this year in Ttown

That is an excellent post. Even though LSU has a very difficult schedule, it is a schedule that LSU can win. Clearly, Bama is the most difficult game and it will be a great one.

the schedule can be navigated with the way it is set up to get to bama in the right position

september is key IMO. If they can navigate the MSU/WVU trips they have the potential to go into the other games in good shape it would seem. What is Nick's record after a bye vs Les. I know someone knows it
