Used to be great. After the merger, their C/S sucks balls just like the rest.

It's been a good experience for me. But I live in a high-rise, so I'm not sure how the satellite might react to bad weather for an individual home.

If they offered CST it would be perfect.

They don't, so it isn't. Otherwise, I really liked it. Just wanted CST more

I've had it since Katrina

LOVE it!!! Picture quality is 1000x better than "cable" since it doesnt travel thru "wires"

don't like them not offering CST but I deal with it

FYI- I didn't have one problem this weekend with the weather

Only con i have encountered is loss of signal during a downpour. Other than that it is great. It allows me to have TV in my camper, fishing camp and home for much cheaper than three separate accounts.

Just got DirecTV about a month ago. I had Comcast, and I wish I'd switched sooner. No problems so far.

Directv is a very solid product. The best advice you'll ever get regarding Directv.... do NOT call and order it thru Directv. They will send out some shitty installer. Find a local person that sales Directv and does the installs. They will give you a much better installation.

I like it

Two drawbacks:
No locals in HD
New slim line dish models are much more sensitive to weather

I love it. Their coverage of golf and tennis majors are top notch. 4 or 5 channels showing multiple groups / matches at a time. Also like the apps where I can set up my favorite teams and check all their info without having to go thru a computer

Why? That rule has been gone for quite some time.

It all depends on your surroundings and the install. If you're on a heavily wooded lot you're going to have issues. If the installer does a lousy job terminating cables and dialing in the signal you're going to have issues. If you have clean line of sight to the satellites and a good install then you'll probably only have signal issues when it is raining heavily.

Gotcha. I live near Washington, DC so we don't have issues with smaller cities stations.
