With all the arguing on jl and the dropped or non dropped passes (depending on which side you are on), I have not heard anything about Shep. Any updates on his situation? Seems like that would help the passing game more than anything.

He's being made an example of by a vindictive NCAA.
Speculation is 5/6 games.

All because he "coached" his cousin on what questions NCAA was asking.
The draconian punishment far exceeds the chickenshit violation.

Yeah, you would think Shep took more than all the Miami players combined.

Considering the possible punishment he should have.

i disagree with this, he was given specific instructions, by the governing body of the institution he participates in. They told him directly not to talk about it, he could not keep his mouth shut. I love the tigers and would dearly love to shep on the field, but he deserves to get punished.... severely

Is there a clause somewhere in Shep's scholarship that gives the NCAA authority to issue such a gag order? Regardless of what they may think, the NCAA is not the federal court system. Shep's suspension is utter bullshite.

The NCAA is an entity with the authority to suspend or end his college career. They gave him direct instructions on how to act.

First of all, I never heard that he "coached" anyone.

The only reason the NCAA found out anything was because Shep TOLD THEM himself that he mentioned something about the interview when he was talking to Loston.

So, he apparently didn't think he had done anything too serious.

The NCAA can clear Cam Newton in less than 24 hours, allow Ohio State players to play in the Sugar Bowl, and yet Shep is going to be suspended for multiple games?

Thats a crock of shite if you ask me.

I hope he is working his butt off to be ready when he finally gets on the field. It's about time we see some long TD runs!

Because? The housing issue was resolved with him paying back the money, no games there. If you're implying it's Lyles related, I can't imagine that info wouldn't be out there in some fashion. I doubt they could cover that up with this ruling.

Ohio State players were encouraged to sell memorbilia and whatever else they could and only get a slap on the wrist.

Yet Shep cant even mention an inquiry, he self reported, to a family member.

NCAA is a joke with no consistancy whatsoever

His punishment should be in line with the other punishments that the NCAA has handed out. 6 weeks is ridiculously extreme.

This.

The NCAA's only consistency lies in the fact that they'll only punish teams/players if it doesn't cost them money.
